Link are some pictures of the deer I took this year in Kentucky on my lease.
The 10 pointer was taken on Opening day at 9:02 at about 70 yards thru thick woods with 243. The doe was taken from same stand the next day at about 50 yards with same rifle.

Just goes to show that a lot of deer can be brained with a .22lr rifle. Most deer are taken at less than 100m, and so are a LOT of bears, elk, and moose. Many, many deer are taken at less than the 50m range of the .22lr's braining capability, and the 223 can obviously hit the brain at 100m, since it reliably hits prairie dogs and crows at twice that distance.
