I have a hand forged small knife that is essentially a bolo/khukuri hybrid. It was hand forged in Nepal out of the leaf spring of a Mercedes cargo truck.

Mine looked just like that but the handle was made out of wood. The overall length of the knife is 12"

So, I decided to put an American style handle on it. The handle is hickory and the blade length is 7".

A damascus blade with a stag handle would be cool. Might do that at a later time.

I'll probably put a brass lined lanyard hole in the handle of that knife pictured.

The handle is held on with epoxy (JB Weld) and by the buttcap which holds everything tight. There was a small hole in the buttcap where the tip of the rattail tang passed through. When the handle was put on, while the epoxy was still wet, the tip of the tang was peened over onto the buttcap.
