hand to hand, and knowing to KEEP a carbine handy is worth a LOT more than bs handgun practice, by FAR. :)U can practice til you turn BLUE, and never make even a race gun match a good carbine at 25m, or a ccw belt gun match one at 15m, for instance.

With very little practice, electronic sight, you can react, raise AR from low ready, hit 3 torsos twice each, 25m, nice hits, too, in 2.5 seconds. With a bit of work, same thing in 2secs FLAT. you will never TOUCH such performance with a handgun, even tho your work at it for 40 hours a week, for a decade. :)

Stage one, Bonnie and Clye match, is 6 bad guys,

touching, at 15 yds, with 3 hostage targets, so arranged that only half of each bad guy is visible for a shot. 5 seconds, from the leather, with full charge .45 ammo, standard 1911, takes a lot of work to be achievable, reliably. Say, 3.5 secs from low ready, with the pistol.. With an electronic sight on a carbine, reacting, raising the rifle and getting the first hit in .90 second is a pc of cake, and so is traversing over and hittting the next one in .35 second. total time for all 6 hits, 3 seconds flat. :) you MIGHT someday manage that with a racegun pistol, but not reliably, under stress, as can be done with the carbine. Start from ambush, the rifle can get it all done in 2 seconds, first shot to last, and that can mean that you really CAN take on 6 rifle armed men, and come out of it alive. If you catch them sitting around, rifles not in hand, or standing, rifles SLUNG, killing them all, without having any LOUD shots fired, is quite feasible indeed.
