AR500Armor.com is having a labor day weekend sale with some pretty good deals. Hard armor, Level III steel plate; some with trauma pads & some not. I've bought some things from them in the past, but not their armor.
Prices run from as low as $195 up to $419, with numerous variations on plate-carrier particulars, pouches & holsters included, & other options.
Steel plate is the heaviest of the armor types, but the reasons I personally like it is that it's not only much more affordable than ceramic, it's also not susceptible to hidden & undetected damage the way ceramic plates are.
