Hmmmm,

1) Summer
2) Lives near a national forest in CO
3) Flexible hours
4) Makes money, not a lot of overhead
5) Needs to maintain a low profile with guns
6) Constantly espouses bugging out via backpack as the #1 option.

The ONE thing a person like that should have dialed in is his backpacking gear.

Especially since he espouses the personal SHTF (i.e. him running from the cops again) as a likely event, he won't have millions of people walking around with good gear for him to pilfer (as if people will be walking around with all the best gear, just strolling in circles in daylight for him to "plink" in the sudden, complete SHTF scenario).
