New one needed complete with bolt. Son-In-Law brought his to a Gunsmith??? for a 'Scope mount. The gunsmith, and I really wouldn't use that term, hacksawed off the front sight for an "unobstructed view". Anyway, gunbroker has a lot, but who knows a reputable dealer? Appreciate any input.. I'm not a colt expert, but couldn't you just replace the front sight / gas block? It's simple enough that I've done it, and I'm nowhere near being a gunsmith.

I don't know why you couldn't, but I haven't seen the rifle. He made it sound like there was extensive damage to the barrel. He's from S.C., so I won't see the gun until next week. Thanks for the input, certainly a cheaper option than a whole new upper.
