I am looking for advice on finding an expert on Colt
percussion pistols, specifically Dragoons. What I need
is someone who does appraisals.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd contact the American Rifleman Magazine, and do a search for (mostly yahoo) talk groups about collecting pistols. I'd also contact the collector columnist authors from the gun Mags, like Phil Spangenburger,of Guns and Ammo. You can also ask at much more active forums than this, like CSP forums, Glock Talk or The High Road. I think that there was (is?) a Colt forum, I once had it in my favorites,maybe still do.

u could also call Bob Arganbright, 618-259-1262, and the SASS cowboy action people. They probably have a website. One of them is bound to know who to refer you to.

There is a Colt Collector's Association. I probably have their link somewhere around here. I'll see if I can look it up when I get a chance.
