every shot sounds the same, until the .22 can builds up enough carbon to need cleaning. Depending upon the size of the can, that might be 50 rds, or 500 rds. The little 3" long version, without sleeve or underchamber, that I put on the Minx .22 short, and the one built into the barrel configuration of a 5.5" barreled Ruger, they started getting noisier at 50 shots or so. But The sleeved, underchambered models, with enough size to them, go 500 rds or so, before they need to be cleaned. I never bothered to clean them, myself, since I could just replace all the baffles in 10 minutes.
