Interesting idea. Never heard of anybody doing that. Dad had a bottle of "liquid map protector" - I can't remember the proper name - that you painted on your map to weatherproof it. (The bottle's contents were dried up so I just threw it away.) I wonder if anybody uses that stuff or if it is even still around.
Neat idea I heard
Heard a suggestion recently. Guy says he prints his maps out of his computer onto transfer paper that he gets at Walmart, and then irons them onto a piece of cloth. Says it makes then durable and waterproof.
