Stup*kid, I'm way way above 'D' class and I do think IPSC is "irrelevant" to combat. It's fun, it's interesting, but it isn't combat or combat training or combat anything.
Combat does not have timers, or 'shooter ready' commands, or speed rigs, or fault lines, or fancy optics, or targets that don't shoot back. Just to many bad habits like no using cover, no exposing yourself for long periods of time, enguaging way way to many 'attackers' at once, etc...
No, it's a game. It's done in good weather, good lighting, comfortable cloths, knee pads, and the like.
What is see is, a wannabe 'A' class shooter 'thinks' IPSC is 'relivant'! That's you, stup*kid. Fits you to a 'T'.
