Recently I inheirited an old 22lr. semiautomatic rifle from my grandfather. The only identification is "Ranger 101-11A." My grandmother says he has had the rifle as long as she can remember. Does anybody know anything regarding the manufacturer/age of this rifle?

"unregistered", I have a "Ranger" .22 that gave me fits trying to identify. Seems to have been a store brand name from Monty Wards or such that was manufactured by Remington. Yours could have been manufactured by Savage, Rem or who knows? I don't. Luck.

There was a line of Ranger named rifles that were sold retail under that name by Sears, but they were actually manufactured by companies like Marlin, Stevens, and Savage. If it one of these it is probably not a very high value gun, but I certainly can not say if it is one or not.
