occurred with a silenced Ruger .22. The gun and can package was 10.5" long. I was wearing it iwb behind my right hip, under an army field jacket. It was after midnight, in Jan, in ILL, cold, and I had to walk about a mile from my shop to my gf's house. I heard a roar out of the night and a chain dragging. Gun appeared in my hand, no idea how I drew it and as the dog hit the end of a chain (I had no idea if it was anchored, how long, etc) I shot him in the top of the head, at arm's length. He dropped so suddenly that I heard his chin hit the sidewalk. The gun being 2" longer than I ever trained with didn't matter. Adrenalin made me lift the gun PLENTY high above the rig.
with the Sig P938 .22 unit being 6.8" long, and with what I know now, being able to silence it in 2.7" (running the can "wet). the overall package is 1" shorter than that Ruger was. This includes having part of the can "telescope" back under the slide, reaching almost to the front of the trigger guard. Being only 1/2" longer than a 4" barreled K frame or M92 beretta, it's a reasonably compact package, considering what it is. The M21 Beretta .22lr and can may be made 1" shorter yet, but the M21 has no extractor and it's DA
