over and hit ANOTHER torso at 25m,or .40 second to do so at 50m, 5m between them. It's very difficult indeed to crack .60 second between hits on such 25m torsos with the full size and weight pistol, even with ear protection. It's virtually impossible to crack .70 sec between them with a true ccw pistol. The short barreled rifle can wear a can, the big bore pistol cannot(without ruining it for fast draw and ccw, that is.) Also, given a softpoint 223, ANY hit on the torso will almost certainly incapacitate the guy, and hits on the limbs probably will do so. A 1" hole in you pretty much ruins you, along withi 800+ ft lbs of shock. The pistol, on the other hand, with standard loads, needs REPEAT hits to the chest to have a realistic chance of stopping a determined man. All of this is why I say that the rifle starts being superior to the pistol at a mere 10 yds, andit's equal to the full size pistol for speed of hitting multiple targets at 20 ft, and the ccw pistol isn'treally superior(speed of hitting-wise) until it's inside about 10 ft.(because of the larger target area offered by the rifle's greater shock and destructiveness.

Don't KID yourself about the pistol amounting to a rat's ass against auto pisols. I don't, and I am a far better pistolero than you are.

Of course an assault rifle is better than a pistol in a gunfight. But, you're assuming that you'll always be walking around like Rambo, rifle displayed and at the ready.

You're also assuming that you HAVE to have a 'can' on everything and that is not so.

The 11.5" CAR barrel is a glorified pistol and it's sh^t for a rifleman's weapon.

But it's nice that you've finally seen the advantage of a flattop AR with a combat optic.

There are a million+ combination of things that can happen in a gunfight, especially in a crisis. Odds are, you may not have your AR with you due to searches, circumstances, ect.

You also don't live in 25m combat territory. You live in an area where you might want to consider something with a bit more range than some 11.5" barrel.

A flat top, 20" AR with an ACOG is a pretty versitile weapon and capable of good hits to 500 yards and beyond. It's just going to be a tad on the anemic side at the ranges I want to be working.

For someone that has ruled out a rifle "battery" the flat top would be a pretty damm good choice for a single rifle. The downside though, is that the weight of a A4 is starting to get pretty damm close to my scout scoped M1A.

For some one that wants a good Desinated Marksman rifle on the AR15 platform it would be a good choice with all the AR15 advantages.

baloney, u've never TRIED proper loads

in a SCOPED 11" CAR-15, or you'd KNOW that what you said is bs. NO repeating pistol can TOUCH what a CAR can do, at 200 yds, much less what it can do at 400 yds.

BS, that 11.5" barrel is NOT a 200 to 400 yard weapon and overstressing that aluminum receiver with hot loads will NOT change that.

Not only do you risk eating aluminum, there is only so much room in the .223 casing, and even if you pack the powder in, you're still wasting a huge amount of your propellant in the form of expended gas, rapidly reaching a point of diminishing returns.

You can break Federal and State law all you want, I don't care, but the Universe will NOT allow you to break the laws of physics and ballistics.

Come on Mike, don't you know that the laws governing reality just don't apply to GunKid.

Escher doesn't come close to the impossible physics and mathematics that boy blunder comes up with.... his mind is like one big Salvador Dali painting.

Some things are easily recognizeable and make sense. Other parts are just warped beyond any resemblance of normal.

This comes out in his many postings - part do make sense, the rest? no basis in reality.

Aslan, you can really turn a good phrase.

Boy Blunder -- I love it!
