This subject was brought up awhile back.

Knight is building an extention into the chamber of one of thier black powder rifles. It was designed to ignite the charge so it burned in both directions. I didn't hear the whole story so that's about all I can relay.

why care? It's black powder,therefore just a joke

Many years ago, they tried having a tube that led the primer flash to the front of the powder charge. Big PITA, not enough of a gain to be worth bothering with.

GK's about half right. It was tried some time ago and was a huge PITA. That was with smokeless powder though. Also, there were slight gains. I know of at least one person trying it right now, again with smokeless. With black, a person might realize some gains. If Knight has any "facts and figures" they would possibly be interesting.
