when he came to her outside faucet, for a drink of water. Had he been willing-able to silently shoot her FIRST, never would have happened. Ditto if she'd had no PHONE. After 30days of running around inside a SMALL area( Grand Canyone National park), 300 cops STILL hadnt laid EYES on the escaped prison inmate. :)

He could have EASILY been 300 miles GONE, on FOOT,in 30 days, or 1-2 nights gone, and either hopped a freight, hitched a ride, bought or stolen a car or bike or boat, or horse, got on a bus, etc, and been 1000 miles gone in a VERY few days.

He was TRYING, however, to take hostages, andMAKE AZ release his brother (also imprisoned) He'd have been WAY ahead to have gotten lost, got his face changed, got a BUNCH of money, and just busted his brother out of prison later. Against a TRULY ruthless man, with PROPER gear, ability, etc, you are going to get your asses shot off, pursuing anyone, post shtf.

Danny Ray Horning, aka 'Rambo of the Rim' who's now on Death Row in California, was 20 years younger than you are now, in primo physical condition, grew up in the area and knew it well, and was an expert woodsman, an area which you've shown to be sorely lacking in.

He was also in some of he ruggedest terrain in the USA. He also pulled that stunt just at the time that the State's main tracker went under the knife for open heart surgery.

"private citizen ratted out "Rambo" in AZ,"
No, an honest citizen just did her duty and reported a dangerous criminal.

Daniel Ray "Rambo" Horning was 33 when he escaped from the Arizona State Prison in Florence, a small town to the southeast of Phoenix. The day was Tuesday, May 12, 1992. He had been serving four consecutive life sentences for aggravated assault, robbery, and kidnapping, all involving a 1991 bank robbery in friendly Winslow, Arizona. He was, in effect, an average thief among mediocre criminals.

Sound familiar?
