supine, fetal, or sitting make more sense. Prone is for the rifleman. In typcical pistol scenarios, going prone doesn't make you a smaller target,cause the guy is 6 ft away or less. All that is achieved by going prone is putting your head where he can KICK it. Falling backwards at leaves achieves the goal of getting your head and neck out of his reach, and putting you where you can stomp at him with either foot. This is a VERY effective technique. I've yet to see even a TRAINED man who could get past that defense, when I put it on. Without real foot speed, and ability to BLOCK the kicks, kick accurately and VERY swiftly yourself, you WILL get your leg broken trying. So it's a VERY effective move to make against a knife man. Especially if the deck is slippery enough to make skip-kicking likely to result in a fall.

Any position is a realistic position for handgun shooting tard. The object is to make yourself as small a target as possible while engaging the enemy.

Just because you have a handgun tard dosen't mean that the person shooting at you will have one and shooting at you from 6 ft. Prone is the best defence position when no cover is available. Oah mr delta (that's the name I gave him a while back) When you kick do you kick with the foot you shot or use the other??? Someone should write a book about your thoughts. No punk, MOST attacks that are stopped, or attempted to be stopped, by a pistol are NOT made with a gun at ALL. They are made with bare hands, strangulation devices, clubs, or cutting stabbing weapons. THAT is the only reason the typical twit, with the typical pistol and load, has ANY success at all. If all the attackers had nothing more than a .$50 Jennings .22, the derringers, mini revolvers, .38 snubs, Maks, 25's, .32's, 380's and the like would have the HORRIBLE reps that they DESERVE to have.
