Anyone done this? I experimented around with it for a little bit and the results were surprisingly good. I thought maybe I was violating some law of nature by doing it, but the groups were no worse than using regular .452 projectiles.

Heck, years ago I loaded up some .357 170 grain projectiles into 9mm cases and they seemed to do OK as well. Was kind of conservative on the powder charge, of course, but seemed to work OK. I have to admit I WAS cringing when I pulled the trigger the first time, though.

I don't know if I would do something like that now that I have gotten older and smarter (hah!). Well, probably I would. :D

The 230 grain Speer Gold Dot with Blue Dot powder makes a very effective standard-pressure .45 Colt load. Loading .45ACP bullets in the .45 Colt at Ruger pressures isn't a good idea - the bullets aren't constructed for those velocities.
