one was cinnamon-colored, about 200 lbs, hiding behind the blade of a bulldozer. We drove by less than 30 ft distant. The other was black, about 300 lbs, about 200m distant, digging for something in the grass.

Some "black" bears run different shades as do grizzles.

Seems both diet like trace minerals and DNA can effect it.

I can't remember where or what type of bear but in some place there are some that have a noticable Blue sheen to their coats.

Black Bear tastes sorta like beef but not exactly.
