shoot a few more, and if they continue, leave the area. Come back when you feel like it, if ever. They CAN'T chase you very far or very long. They dont have either the resources OR the necessary motivation. YOU, however, have the ULTIMATE motivation, to go as far and fast as you need to, to elude them. :) YOU get to set the pace, PICK the terrain they will HAVE to traverse, turn, double back, etc, and all THEY CAN DO is TRY to follow, TRY to GUESS which way you will go. :) You can move at night, they can't track you at night (with sufficient speed, without being lit up TARGETS). you can hole up days, they HAVE to move in daylight, make noise, become TARGETS. Once you shoot 1/4-1/2 of them, they will realize what a bad idea it is to follow you further. There wont BE any large groups trying to follow you. NOt that many will be available, nor will they care what you did (enough to risk their lives, and their family's lives, to pursue you for weeks and months on end.

If you shoot one of our friends or family, I suspect that most of us here would have the motivation to chase you forever. I would want to capture you alive so you could dance the 'skinned tango'.

What you fail to grasp gunkid, is that most people are far more competent marksmen than you are! They don't need a crutch, while you do.
First of all, they are rested, and well fed at the beginning of the chase, you're not.
They bring their own rations, you have to forage or go hungry.
If they have to stop to eat, get water, get rid of water, etc, so do you.
Keep evading pursuit at night, every day they'll gain MAJOR ground on you because of the HUGE trail you'll leave at night.
They know the terrain, you most likely don't.
They know choke points, points that are impassable, easy routes. You, especially with no maps, do not.
You're dead meat.
Know what no can means? He get's to hear the shot that scatters his intestines all over the surrounding vegetation.
gunkid, persuers will not like some dog sniffing a trail, come blindly down the maze of broken branches, foot prints, candy bar wrappers, used charmin (ew!), and whatnot you would leave behind at night time.

Rememember the Selous Scouts? One tracks, another looks out. Only thing is, they don't stay on the trail itself. And other will fishhook around looking for spoor farther up. When you do your layup for an ambush, some will come from behind! You, all alone, won't know which direction they will come from.

The feds use hundreds to track down someone, but they know 99.99 percent of the time they will surrender (like you did.) If they suspect there is a killer who will not surrender, they hunt them VERY differently. But we know you will surrender at the first sign of someone coming. That's just your nature.

I have personally known and had the honor to work with some people who DO NOT GIVE UP! God help you if they come after you, there just ain't no quittin'.

If they are in range, so are you.

if there’s more than one, one or more can be shooting while others move up. If they have decent rifles and not 10” shorties, they can engage you from further than you can engage them. If there is more than one, they will have the advantage of using aimed fire to pin you down.

if there is more than one, they have the option of resupply - one or more goes and gets supplies while the others continue pursuit.

they may have the option of staying rested, one team pursues the other rests, and then the switch off. They can can run you days on end this way. You will collapse from exhaustion in no time.

you really don’t want to engage any organized groups, you steal from or kill a member of the wrong group and you are dead.
