I scanned an article dealing with winter survival in gunkids backyard unfortunately the article is too large, about 3.5 MB. If you would like it PM me. It deals with a couple of people that were stranded and snowbound for 38 days.

Very interesting. So much for mylar blankets eh?
Seems a lot of people have a "this can't happen to me" attitude and take unnecessary chances. Problem is, guys probably do the same thing in less severe circumstances and get away with it, which only reinforces bad habits.

Anyone in that kind of environment really needs the proper equipment and not rely on getting to where it's warm in a few days. Sometimes that just can't be done.

Can you imagine 38 days with just peanut butter and a double poncho patched together with duc-tape to survive there? That's stup*kids survival skills put to the max.
