a hit rate, longer range, costs 1/3rd as much, practice ammo costs 10% as much. :) Corbon's 150 gr SP for the .30 AK rd is 2400 fps, 1900 ft lbs. No lever action 45-70 can hit again in less .40 second, and the sks most definitely can hit again in .20 second. With steel-jacketed ball, the sks has many times as much penetration as does the 45-70, too. All you have to do is fire twice as much, with the mag stagger-loaded with such ball ammo and Cor-Bon SP ammo. Some people are just stupid enough to BELIEVE all that old bs about this obsolete old pos gun and load.

Have you ever considered an intelligent comparison such as .17 HMR vs .22 WMR or 5.45x39mm vs 5.56x 45mm ?????? How about comparing apples to apples instead of apples to oranges?

Energy is only a part, and not even a large part, of the equation. If gunkid doen't have the sense to know this that's his fault. If a 7.62x39 expands, it realistly only becomes a 45/70. They are made for two very different things and only a FOOL would ignore that. And we all know gunkid is a FOOL.
