"One hunter dead and 38 stranded: cold days in hell, Rockies style;

I found this article in the 2003 Outdoor Life Survival magazine and have been playing around with my scanner hoping I could share it.

I'm not sure it will work;

Wonder how far GK would with a big garbage can lid as his butt-ski? He would probably trash himself.

Wait for it, wait for it.

A mylar blanket would have saved them!

Some idiots who never actually go out into the world would have you believe that anyway.

Yes, Garand emailed it to me a while ago also (thanks again). No way in hell CowardKid would have survived, and he wouldn't have been able to walk out in 3 days either.

No but there is so much of him that perhaps the other survivors could have used him as "long pig".

When an Inuit hunter was stranded in a storm with no way back home, Often they cut open one of their dogs and warmed their hands over its innards. Unpleasant, but effective.

Excellent post. Another piece of knowledge to store in my mind.

Coyote says: "When an Inuit hunter was stranded in a storm with no way back home, Often they cut open one of their dogs and warmed their hands over its innards. Unpleasant, but effective."

Mr. 160IQ would have kept warm by blaming the dog for the snow and then beating it to death.

Naw, he wouldn't have anyone to hold the dog for him. The dog would be warming its paws in CowardKid's innards.
