mean YOU can. Sure,Dupont made proper black powder. doesn't mean YOU can get away with it. Even Dupont blew up some powder plants, and THEY knew what they were doing. You don't. They had months and months in which to prepare,you wont. The entire idea is just STUPID,man. Where you gonna GET the sulphur and nitrate? have to roam all OVER the Rockies to do so. Aint worth it. Just CACHE a few thousand rounds of .22lr,in different spots, a few hundred rds of 223, and you will be good for 50 yrs. What makes you "think" you will have months to dick around with making black powder,finding the ingredients,etc, yet you CAN'T get backto ANY cache,hmm?

That's not the point. If you can hit an animal or target with BP, you can do it with any rifle. BP can be one of the ultimate challenges and is a fine test of shooting skill.

The ability to make black powder is a fundamental skill. You never know when it can come in handy.

I have a nice stereo, but I can make an AM crystal radio out of odds and ends. I have a good pair of boots, but I practice making my own footwear. My first degree was an engineering degree, but they still made me study literature (doubly 'fun' when the instructor is a radical lesbian feminist and a communist).

It's the concept of having a well rounded skill set. It has effects well beyond the immediate skills in question as it allows you to view things with a broader brush.

LOL, mine was black on top of that, and had a personality that made Goonkid look pleasant. A man could never get better than a C, no matter his color. A woman that was anything but black could never get over a B. If it was a black female, it would get an A no matter what it did.

Back on topic, Goonkid doesn't like anything he doesn't already think he knows because he's too lazy to learn, as well attested to by the fact that all his "gun knowledge" is 30 years old. It was too much work for him to learn anything in that time.
