I'll try to make this as simple as I can. I'm not a Legal Instruments Examiner, as your Community Programs Manager is, but I do know the Fedearl Law. When you were sentenced on you first conviction, it was for 180 months, with 36 months to follow. The first 180 months were "close supervision, ie: incarceration. The following 36 months were "open supervision", parole, and supervised release. Your following convictions tacked on "close supervision" and again, supervised release. Like so many convicts, you thought when you walked out the gate. you were home free. Ain't gonna happen. Three Federal Felonies? Every step you take, every move you make, we'll be watching you.

So Terry, does that mean commit a crime and you're SOL the rest of your life? Not only lose your right to vote, right to self-defense, but also the right to privacy?

Is this after the first time, or do you have to be a three-striker to have this level of choke hold on you?

Not at all. Make a mistake,(and we all do) do your punishment and thereafter obey the law. Nobody is looking over your shoulder. I know literally hundreds of ex-offenders that did just that. Turned their lives around and started enjoying life instead of waiting for the knock on the door. One asked me to be best man at his wedding. Restoration of rights is dicey, like I have said before. I don't agree with a lot of it, but I didn't make these laws. HOWEVER, when you have numerous convictions for state and Federal offenses, you ARE a threat to society, and for the protection of us all you are watched. I am the last person to advocate a "Big Brother" society, and would fight against one. BUT, if I know a wolf has attacked my sheep, not once, not twice, but three plus times, I would hire a pretty good shepherd to "watch the flock".

Wouldn't it simply make more sense, for those who have proven that they have no intention of acting like humans, to just not let them out or to plant them, rather than spend manpower keeping an eye on them?

I'm not directing this at you, just figured you'd have a bit more insight as to how the system does/doesn't work.

no, it wouldn't, because what you'd GET is such guys shooting the crap out of the cops, THEN robbing the town, and similar stuff. Since they'd have NOTHING to lose by so doing, and a LOT to gain, why not, hmm? :)

there's ZERO "choke hold", bozo. I was here in CO for TWO FULL years, on "work permit' from ILL. All I had to do was send in a monthly report. The PO had no way at all to check ANYTHING, since I worked for my wife, and the assumption HAS to be that she'll lie for me,call me on cell phone, tell me to get back to the office, etc. :)

All ANY "ex felon" has to do, in order to be safe from gun-charges,is get a new ID, stay away from people who know him, et.c When was the last time ANYONE asked for YOUR ID, at a practice range or a match, hmm? I've NEVER been asked, and I doubt if ANYONE ever has. It's nobody else's business. It's VERY easy to just park the van a mile or so away, load up the gear onto the bike, take the bike to the range. It takes all of 10 seconds to remove the plate from the bike. Off the road, bike doesn't HAVE to have the plate. Just put it into your gun-gear case. Get out of sight, make sure nobody followed, replace the plate, ride to the van, go on home. That's the MOST effort or "security' you ever have to bother with. :) At matches, or shows, LOTS of guys wear dark glasses, with side-plates, a hat, long hair, beard, mustache, long sideburns, etc. :) U don't HAVE to hang around bsing with everyone, ya know.

if it aint a cop, or if cop has no radio, he CAN'T check your ID. If it is from out of state, even the radio-computer network probably can't check it for validity, in any sort of a timely fashion. The cops know that, and if shown an out of state ID, and you AINT driving, they wont' bother to check it. They (and banks) have a little book, showing the front and back of all 50 states drivers licenses, and state ID cards, but it's a PITA to look it up. How many cops outside of Idaho KNOW what an IDahao State ID card looks like, hmm? If you aint DRIVING, you dont HAVE to have a driver's license, you know. :)

Your thinking is flawed. From your perspective, you should be able to commit crime after crime, then let go to do it again. Anybody can make a mistake, it is in our nature as human beings. Keep making them and other human beings can protect themselves from the likes of you. You have showed yourself to be a repeat offender. Why should you get some special consideration? I really don't care about your mental problems. You sir, are a criminal and you won't be shooting up my town.

So they'd just go to "planted" status and save the human beings the money of locking up trash.
