Suppressor cutaway pic

Came across this cutaway picture of a suppressor, showing baffle configuration. Lots of dead-end "paths" for the gases to take; should be a pretty effective design, for what appears to be a sealed, no-maintenance unit.

Don't know manufacturer or even country of origin; it's called the "Z Jet" suppressor, if anyone's familiar with it.

phenolic resin?
Don't know. Just assumed it was aluminum or some other metal. Don't even know the origin of the picture.
John, I've seen that photo before along with a description - just can't remember where. Its US made and the baffles are machined from (stainless?) steel, I believe. Real good craftsmanship that beats hell out of formed wire baffles.

Not to be a doubting thomas(really) but that really looks like it's an injection molded piece.I don't recall the temps at which p.resin melts but ...WOW.Think a sec...if a suppressor could be injection molded(& why not really)then it seems like the price would/could be quite reasonable for a high quality piece.
For that matter (and this is something for GBullet) why couldn't they be made out of ceramic if the material wouldn't shatter.

RIKA
A few years back, I remember that a composite of aluminum and ceramic was supposed to be the wave of the future.

Basically you took the ceramic and superheated it with a block of aluminum. The aluminum would melt and be drawn into the spaces within the ceramic.

this created an alloy with the strength of ceramic without the fragility.

The hoopla seems to have faded and I have not heard much along these lines in a long time...

if u can't GET it, it might as well never have been made.
If that is the can I'm thinking of, you can get them. They run about $500 if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, that pic is a 50% cut away. It'd be better if it was 1/3rd cut away so you get a better idea of how the baffles work.

I've got a collection of 1/3rd cut away suppressors I use for training. One day, I should get pics of them and post them. They are very educational.

jet-z suppressor is one of best suppressors-specially in 308 & 5.56 cal. no aluminium on it ,all stainless steel into weld construction here new ase ultra a little improved 5.56 Compact cqb can.
sabre defense is working on jet-z under license. every baffle is made on five welded pieces together,a very complicated & efective system on asault rifles.

I would love to see more pics, especially of the cutaways.

Thanks Dardani.

I want to see Ron Popiel make a cooker that'll attach on to a suppressor.

Full auto fire 100 rounds=cook an omlete.
Shoot 500 & you can make lasagna!

:alien:
thanks for the great pics

if anyone has any more (especially the 1/3 cutaways) I'm really interested
BTW... wouldn't the large gaps in between the baffles and where the barrel would be if it were extended dramatically increase the potential for baffle strike while rapid firing?
here is a cutaway of an MP5SD

That's the Second Gen baffle arrangement. The first gen was crappy. The latest is a machined baffle assembly.

I've got a Second Gen arrangement on mine and personally, I think it's the best of the series.
