The point of my post was that Deer can take a lot of killing before their harvested. We were discussing the .30 Carbine cartridge and I stated that I did not think it had the power to reliably put down large whitetails. I stated that I had shot one through the heart/lung area with a 30/06 and it still had run over two hundred yards, but of course I was lying. So here's a picture of the deer this never happened to. If you look close you'll see the Browning BAR 30/06 that I didn't shoot it with.
