I doubt it. I saw the same article, and one of the reasons working against it is that the best suppressor is only good for a few thousand rounds. That means one thing to us, and it means something entirely different to someone carrying an automatic weapon. A few thousand rounds to a light machine gun is an afternoon.

Quite true. A suppressor that burns out after a few thousand rounds will not be practical on a fully automatic rifle. Even less useful on a 550/650 RPM machine gun.
