are deflected by impacting small limbs, even 12 ga slugs. If the bullet is centered on the twig, it is deflected less than if it impacts on the "edge" of the branch. If the twig is close to the target, the bullet may still do its job. The closer to the gun the brush impact is, the less stable the bullet is, and the further off target the bullet will be deflected.
