should TRY a 6lb, 10" CAR-15 sometime. :) Even with 10" and 1 ozs of reallly effective sound suppressor, it weighs no more, and is no larger. Its ammo weighs half of what .44 or 30-30 ammo weighs, so you can just as easilly carry the .22 conversion unit, and 20-30rds of 223, and 50rds of .22lr, as you can 30 rds of 30-30 or .44 ammo. How often is big game in season, hmm? 10 % of the year? Why bother with 30-30 or .44 on varmints or small game? You certainly aren't going to do well at any sort of match with such a rifle and load. You can't build the lever from a parts kit and an 80% finished lower receiver, like you can the AR? So why waste time and money on a demonstrably inferior gun and load, hmm? Hell, a $150 sks and 8c a shot ammo for same can at least match the ballistics of the 2 lever calibers, and double the ability to get multiple targets.

not to MENTION the 4 lb carbon fiber AR,

or the upper that lets you use a folding stock, of course. Or the drop in trigger job, rustproofing, drop in luminous sights, see thru mounts, return to zero, QD scope bases, QD bipod that doesn't effect POI, the 1 MOA or better accuracy, GI rd, .22 lr availability, compactness, quietness, wt, etc.

you spelt "over all" wrong, not every lever gun is the same length, the 38" wasn't tied to anything except the word "lever," indicating a rifle which has a 38" long lever. Pass grammar school before you start calling people ignorant...I'd still prefer the lever.

223 fan is afraid of lever actions because of the kick and they make noise. Thats the reason he favors the shorty CAR with a homemade and illegal silencer (suppressor) on the end. Bolt actions frighten him also because they fire a man's full power cartridge.

yeah, right, little girl. I was shooting

308 bolts and 12 ga doubles before you were born. Some people just stupidly LIKE to handicap themselves with inefficient gear. Others know better, that's all.

A BA rifle in a good caliber is NOT a handicap. Its not the weapon, its the persob USING the weapon that counts.

Do you remember that some little girl snipers in the Russian Army took out hundreds if not thousands of well trained German troops during WW2? And they were using Mosin Nagants with 3 & 4X scopes with external adjustments.

Wild West Guns. . .

rustproofing,
Get it parkerized or hard chromed (Wild West Guns, or most other coating places), or buy the stainless versions. . .

drop in luminous sights,
Wild West Guns, Ashley. . .

see thru mounts, return to zero, QD scope bases,
Marlins and Brownings, maybe Savage can mount any scope base or mounts you want. . .

QD bipod that doesn't effect POI,
Not getting that with the AR either without free-floating handguards

the 1 MOA or better accuracy,
VAST majority of AR do NOT get 1 MOA or better, certainly not 80% receivers finished with dremels and hand drills. Even if a gun, any gun, is 1 MOA capable, most shooters aren't. Not to mention you'd be very surprised to see what a levergun can do. . .

Browning and Savage both make .308 and .223 leverguns. Leverguns are not limited to the .30-30 and pistol caliber cartridges.

.22 lr availability,
Levergun shooters aren't dumb enough to cripple their primary gun with a rimfire. Just get a .22 levergun. . .

compactness, quietness, wt, etc.
Leverguns are notoriously well-balanced (unlike ARs) and handy, which is why they are so popular. Once you hang all your crap off the AR it isn't going to weigh much, if any less than the levergun. You won't notice the difference a few ounces, even a pound make. If you do, it's in your head or you're in such bad shape you won't live out the first few days of SHTF anyway.

One thing the levergun and AR have in common is that you don't have either.

A firearm is only inferior to gunkid, if he has failed to master that type of action.

You’re the one claiming a single hit from a .22 will be fatal. What will a single hit from a bolt action be? Hmm? If it only takes a single round to be fatal, then the action type doesn’t matter much - unless of course you plan on missing a lot. And if you’re only carrying a couple hundred rounds, you best not be missing - right?

Melvin obviously does not pay attention to the anti gun laws being passed in North America either. You might need an Option B at sometime in the future.

No. Because he's "an outlaw". As demonstrated by the meek compliance every time someone has said, "put your hands behind your back" or "come back to the work camp". That's a seriously defiant outlaw spirit right there.

Then there was his case manager that told him to get back to the Half-Way House muy pronto. Melvin defied him for oh, about five minutes.
