Hi all,

Does anyone have any comments on the Thompson Center Black Diamond? It seems like a good rifle for a beginner and I've heard good things about it. It's a little more expensive than what I wanted to spend, but I think it'll be worth the extra cost.

Oh, if I want to use it for boar hunting, what caliber would be good? I believe it comes in either .50 or .54 caliber.

.58, if you can get one, bigger ball yields more weight which yields a little more umph and extra penatration. Remeber that a round ball will lose something like half its velocity and overhalf of its energy by the time it goes one hundred yards.
