and I drew a concealed lw Commander, CYCLED the slide, and hit the can, while it was still in midair. They were one and all AGHAST at the difference SKILL makes. :) See, bozos, without ear protection, you can EASILY flinch enough to miss with a shotgun, at pistol type ranges, because the pattern is only 1-2" wide. You probably wont HAVE ANY LONGARM when trouble occurs. if you dont always ccw the pistol, you wont have IT EITHER.

We used to eat lunch as a group in between morning and evenng hunts when I was still in high school. We'd take a spent shotgun hull, throw it up as far as we could, and the other person would try to hit it (with a pump 12 gauge) with 3 consecutive shots. Misses were much more rare than hits on the first 2 shots. The third shot was the most difficult since it was usually a good distance away, flying unpredictably, MUCH lower to the ground, etc.

Nbody could hit a can with a 12 gauge thrown up? Hmmmm, either this was another dream of yours or you had some of the worst shooters in the world....lol.

This was just before mommy woke him up so she could change the pee pee in his sheets.

TOSSED 15 ft up, u aint FAST enough

to hit it with a shotgun, with typical hunting barrel and choke, with no ear protection. :) I was clearing the shirttail as soon as I let go of the can, cycling the slide as they "acquired" the target (as best as they were GOING to do so, anyway) got a Weaver as they missed, and I'd hit it right after they fired.

and it's GONE, ripped to shreds. There won't BE any other hitting done on it, liar.
bzzz

wrong-o!

Plastic hulls can take quite a beating, and in the air the pellets tend to bang em up a bit, bit mostly knock them around...

try this, shoot one on the ground and see how close and how many times you need to shoot it in order to shred it with a typical birdshot load, like #8's

That is complete bull-pucky, poacher. You'd know it if you ever tried. They get beat up, but they do NOT get blown to shreds or anything.

For more info, we were using 12gauge pumps, 2 3.4" shells, usually #7.5 if I remember correctly (#6 if the brush wasn't as thick and longer shots were expected), and modified chokes (usually). Shotguns were already on our shoulders when the hull got thrown up, though, so we might have cheated on the speed test. Didn't matter - we had fun.

No. I said a highly skilled man with 1911

is WAY out in front of typical dip[**censored**] using a pump 12, at any range at which the canned CAR isn't a better choice than the pump 12. The rifle has potential real use, the CCW'D pistol DEFINITELY has real utility (expecially for those too lazy and cheap to have real hand to hand skills) The shotgun has nowhere near as much to offer. Its the refuge and the PRAYER of those who are too cheap and lazy to get really good with the really useful types of firearms.

then u r SLOW to the first hit, cause

at 40 ft and less, regular 26-28" barrels, using birdshot, rip the hull to SHREDS, and send the brass sailing away so fast and far that no WAY do you hit it again, other than by PURE luck. Same thing, inside 20 ft, with 20" riot barrels. Either way, you are lying.

if I AINT, it's not about guns, ammo, shooting

hand to hand, etc, or it's a simple typo. I've been studying and practicing more days than you've had minutes of jerking off. Which is to say, a HELLUVA LOT.

Like I said, try hitting one on the ground and see how shredded the hull gets. see how close you have to be with birdshot to shred the case.

But, anyone wiht a shotgun can do this.

Or if you want to simulate it being in the air, hang it on a string. (which is probably safer in the long run)

Don't take my word, don't take GK's. Actually prove it for yourself.

Hey GK - this is one of those PROVABLE things. Are you sure you don't want to quietly start ignoring this thread before someone posts their results?
