Ok, this is a true story which happened about 2 years ago.
Background: My wife works as the director of a preschool/latchkey program for a catholic school here in town. The program is held in an old building on the grounds which used to house nuns lots of years ago, and is supposedly haunted. The kids in the program all hear the stories. My wife used to stay in the evening and clean up, get ready for the next day. Anyway, my son and I went over one evening to see her and she wanted something from the basement. My son (about 6 years old then) and I went to get it. The stairs going down take a sharp turn at the bottom and then another turn in the hallway before coming to the room doors. I went first and could hear my son coming down the stairs after, but still out of sight. At the first door I flipped the light on and off. slammed the door and yelled "ARRGHH" . The next thing I hear is feet running up the stairs! He didn't say a word just turned around and took off up the stairs. When I was through laughing I went up looking for him. He was completely outside the building sitting on a bench. Hadn't even tried to find his mom! Just up the stairs and straight out the door! When I walked up he jumped up and said "Dad! What happened down there!?" I think he was actually surprised to see me. Sorry for the length, but I still get a laugh out of this.

another true story

When my daughter was about 6 (16 now), was in k-mart near halloween with her and my wife. I pulled on a monster mask and jumped out at her from an aisle. Boy, did she scream! Had to explain that one to a couple of clerks, and my wife got mad!

While I'm on the subject this one happened a long time ago. I was probabely about ten or twelve and got up in the night to use the bathroom. It was very late and everyone else was asleep. I snuck into my brother's bedroom ( couple years younger than me), stood over his bed, raised my arms and screamed. He shot bolt upright and yelled so loud he woke up the house! I'll never forget the look on his face. I laughed so hard I almost cried. Was he ever pissed!
