often, 2" x 16", with 6" of that length telescoped back around the barrel. It weighs at LEAST 1.5 lbs. Such a can IS capable of handling rapidfire with full charge 308 ammo. trouble is, it makes the rifle handle about like a 28" barreled 12 ga, with a mag extention that runs all the way out to the muzzle, full of buckshot. :) THAT is why 308 autorifle fans DONT use one. :) THAT is why a shorty 223 is a FAR better all around choice, for shtf (along with the .22lr conversion unit).

To claim that 308 fans don't use a suppressor is foolish because I have seen them and heard them in person. The one I saw was about 12in long and attached to the end of the barrel.

Full auto is not a requirement for a survivalist, if the balloon ever goes up. You will have to conserve ammunition and make each shot count.

I can't believe someone would whine so much over less than 2 pounds. Talk about a poser who's never tried something. Not to mention, if you can't walk through the woods with a real rifle, even with a supressor on it, iy's a lack of skill as a rifleman, not a lack on the weapon's part. But like a typical loser, he has to blame anything but himself for his shortcomings.

Then why in the hell am I spending so much time, and getting paid so much, putting together M1As and FALs with supressors in their kit for use in the big sandbox?

The proof is in the pudding and the fact is that a whole lot of end users are using and demanding that they get to continue to use these guns.

I as well as many others are totally comfortable with an 18" M1A and magazines full of 155gr AMAXs when i'm where it's hot, dry, and dusty.

wrong on all counts. Do I need to post my rifle again? I’ll bet you haven’t heard of modern techniques for making suppressors using materials like titanium.

Seriously. Mine is rated not only for .308, but all the way up to .300 Win Mag, and is less than one-third the size (47.5 cu/in vs 175 cu/in) of a 2"x14" unit; and less than one-fourth the volume of a 2"x16" unit. That's a massive difference. Plus it weighs as little as 10.5 ounces, depending on which adapter/connector you use. I use it for .223/5.56, .300BK, 9mm, .357 magnum\; and because it's so light, even down to .22LR.

The stated sizes of 2" by 14"-16" are more like the size of .50 BMG suppressors, not .308 suppressors.

I really wish I had bought one like that last year. Ozark Armoury went to selling silencers with The Silencer Shop.
Plus not more than 3 miles away is a business called Silent Manufacturing but I've not dropped in yet or been on their website much lately.

Liberty Mystic-X. It was initially a toss up between it and the Silencerco Omega, but the Mystic-X won out because the Omega can’t go above .30 caliber diameter, meaning no 9mm, .38, or 357 magnum through it. Very happy with it.
