at way too many targets. For instance, the IDPA "qualifier" course has you stupidly staying exposed (even if it IS "just" your head and shoulder) at 20yds, for 5-6 seconds, while you shoot twice at each of 3 guys.
I got news. Those guys will be MOVING if you are shooting at them, and you will probably need 4-7 shots at EACH one to score a good hit. Staying exposed to all 3, especially your entire torso's being exposed, for that long a period of time is just flat stupid.
20 yds is a one in 50 or less frequency sort of shootout, for the civilian, and if he has to engage more than ONE guy at such a range, he will survive having to do so only by pure LUCK. So why bother making 1/3rd of the shooting done at 20 yds? It's ridiculously out of line with reality.
