all year long, but elk, moose, bear, out of season, = BIG headache. Either you just LEAVE the meat, or you have MANY hours of work to cut it up, haul it back,etc,andyou CAN'T "season" it in warm OR freezing temps. so it won't be much better than chille meat. Rabbit or 2 is no big deal to haul back (or eat on the spot, for that matter) Varmints don't have to be deal with at all of course but NONE of them require a monster revolver to kill, either. :) Deer dont either, of course. .45 ACP lw Commander can handle deer just fine to 70m, if you have a good load and gun,and can really shoot.
