all year long, but elk, moose, bear, out of season, = BIG headache. Either you just LEAVE the meat, or you have MANY hours of work to cut it up, haul it back, etc, andyou CAN'T "season" it in warm OR freezing temps. so it won't be much better than chille meat. Rabbit or 2 is no big deal to haul back (or eat on the spot, for that matter) Varmints don't have to be deal with at all of course but NONE of them require a monster revolver to kill, either. :) Deer dont either, of course. .45 ACP lw Commander can handle deer just fine to 60m, if you have a good load and gun,and can really shoot.

10.0-10.5 grs of Unique gets a 160 gr swc to 1350 fps in a Commander .45 barrel, and will group 8" at 60m, from a good gun. I get LOTS closer than that to half a dozen deer a year, without even trying. :)

Hmm......sounds like you know exactly nothing about poaching or proccessing game to me LOL

Did you know that antelope and deer season starts hee Sept 1 and that it will no doubt run into the 100's or that elk season runs till Feb and it could be 30 below and that lots of "once a year" hunters will just have no problem at all taking care of thier game?

You are such a know nothing it's embarrassing to read this stuff sometimes.

Teuf,

I know what you mean - I have taken deer in 100 degree heat, as well as in below freezing temps. And, everything in between - that's one of the more interesting aspects of living in Arizona. We have just about every type of climate and weather you can imagine.

The 100 degree hunt was in the tombstone area of AZ, the below freezing was on the north rim of the grand canyon.

Gunkid has no idea of what he is talking about. He clearly has no woodcraft skills at all, and it is doubtful he's actually done any serious hunting.
