where you'd THINK it should go. There's a slot cut into the slide, underneath there, that's necessary to let the slide clear the lips of the magazine, as the slide moves back and forth. What you have to do is build up the slide of the slide a bit, with a Tig Welder, and drill your pivot pin hole down int that. The rear of the barrel of course has to have a slot milled into it, to allow the hook of the extractor access to the rim of the .22lr case. This modification is for M21's that seek ultimate accuracy, by means of pinning-down the rear of the "pop up" barrel. Once you install the extractor, the pop up feature is gone, and once you pin down the barrel, it's gone too. So you then NEED the extractor. on some M21's, the barrel-frame "lockup" is so tight, pinning down the barrel adds no accuracy at all. On others, it cuts the 25m groups in half. If you flip up and close the barrel a lot, of course, wear soon sets in, and the barrel gets a bit "looser" on the frame. I prefer to just eliminate that worry, right from the start.
