You do what you have to do, I'm not the abandon my family kind. I don't think of my wife as mearly a meal ticket and internet hook-up, I'm raising my children as I see fit and refuse to abandon them. The folks I call friends have been though thick and thin for many, many years.

You have yet to give one example of a nation disintigrating into individuals eating each others, until then don't be suprised if you aren't taken very seriously.

He's assuming that what would happen inside of a prison, the main anchor of his point of referrence during his adult life, would hold true for the rest of society.
