As Capstick pointed out in his book, 'Death in the Silent Places', Bell was a MASTER class shot. He shot birds over 100 YARDS up in the air with one of his bolt action rifles! A passerby asked him what kind of shotgun he was using to down those birds so high up (he was shooting well over 50 percent hit rates on the birds). He showed the gentelman his .300 cal rifle (I forgot what exact kind.)
Bell in his writings did NOT advocate everyone use small bore rifles. He never said that. Most of his shootings were within 20 yards (much harder today as elephants are much more savvy about man.) Back when he was a white hunter the elephants were no where near as skiddish to man as they are now.
So stup*kid, it's YOU who does not know what Bell did or wrote. I know, I have "Bell of Africa",
"The Wanderings of an Elephant Hunter", AND several of Capsticks books as well as Rouke, Jim Corbett, Anderson, and others.
Stup*kid, you know squat about the subject. I just PROVED you WRONG AGAIN. You and your POS CAR know just where to stick it.
