I split a 8'X10' room with another Cpl. for a year in the ROK, and if we had been Spc.4 or below we would have been 2 sets of bunk beds with 4 to the room instead of one bunk apiece with the lockers as a divider. This included all of our personal efects, and our TA-50, as well as our Mnt. Bikes as you couldn't leave them outside. As active duty personel we had no rights, and should have been happy not to be living in a tent, but prisoners get better treatment, living quarters, food, and more rights, with only a fewer privledges than what we had. There are no laws protedcting us, and no ACLU to ensure that we get a better set of working conditions, because we are not on their radar screen. We also have proven that we would not fall into the "I did this for you now scratch my back bitch" game that convicts fall for.

u TRY running marathons, in any decent time at all, based on ANY prison food. I never SAID anything about LIKING it, dumbass. What I said was Rostov is fos CLAIMING Horning was in "marathoner' physical condition. Even if had HAD been, at his escape, 50+ days of CONSTANT e and e is a BAD degradation factor on ANYBODY'S physical condition, dumbasses.
Horning wasn't doing E&E the entire time. He stopped, looted cabins, stole vehicles, kidnapped people, commited carjackings, forced two terrified English chicks on their vacation to buy him some brand new camping gear, etc. He was having himself a good ol'time.

And YES, he was in good enough condition to run up the side of a small mountain at +5000ft without stopping and still keep going.

He was a dirtbag, but he earned the nickname 'Rambo'.

I found during my time in the Ma. system that the only way to get food that was somewhat edible(besides a kitchen job) was to claim medical necessity and /or vegetarian status....I've a chronic disease(blood&bone marrow),I was denied access to my medicine(no one would call the VA)but after a few days I at least got the dietary preferences/needs card filled out and was able to get some merely disgusting food ,as opposed to the "imminent danger"(of food poisoning)variety.Plus,a kid that I worked a repo job before was a kitchen services trusty/he owed me a favor or three so I was able to at least get peanut butter, whole wheat bread,a some type of no sugar/low fat meals during the week. Now coffee....that took some work....could have been finessed but I just did not want to incur any debt(financial or otherwise)...if I did not NEED it I did without.
PT/conditioning inside.....J block had some access to an old universal type gym;for the most part though I made do in the ball court(laps not playing),push ups, chinups(towell grip off of the hoop),dips/sit ups&the like.I preferred to not get too used to any one privilege that could be yanked arbitrarily......
