lb combat load, you are fos. choosing 308, .45, means you are also ignorant about the lightest, most versatile OTHER gear, and you also dont know how to forage efficiently, so you'd be carrying another 10 lbs of other gear, on top of the 10 extra, wasted lbs of .30 cal, .45, etc.

Given that your knowledge of tactics is virtually non existant, I really think that you over rate yourself.

MELVIN -- Garand has got you there.

Your gross ineptitude was showing. And, the fact that you're a WORLD CLASS POSER, was quiet evident too.

I hate to suggest this to you, but your posts are just TOO LITERATE for MELVIN TO UNDERSTAND THEM. If you could DUMB-DOWN your posts, say about ninety percent, then you might be able to meet MELVIN on his own level.

I just thought of something allegorical -- here you have the retired professional soldier, GARAND, and the POSER WANNABE, MELVIN the unmagnificent (lower case).

Which one are you going to listen to? The POSER, or the PROFESSIONAL?

I can't "dumb up" my posts that much. If I wanted do degrade them that much so as for gunkid kid to understand them, I'd be talking at the intellictual level of door knobs and certain vegetables

I kinda like the way that one stuck to melvin's mental capacity.

Remember it's only certain vegetables - some are way out of his league.

Really, Mr bad back, bad knees, poor circulation, and heart problem? I'll take my 70 lb pack against your 50 lb pack any day - let's do a 50 mile hike, take however many days you need. don't even need to involve a single fire arm, so there's no legal issues. we weigh our packs at the start and then go. I'll let you set the pace, first one to drop out or start shedding gear (other than food and water they consume) loses and has to admit it on line. weather is not an excuse. if it is raining, snowing or blistering heat, it doesn't change a thing.

You forget you've admitted to all kinds of health issues here. then you post stupid stuff like this....it's hilarious.

Be careful, Dorobuta. I mean sure, he's spoken publicly about his dependency on multiple mind-altering drugs, and yes, he's also publicly shared info about his numerous physical ailments for years now. But remember, he's still more than a year away from 70 years old; still a young, sprightly pup.

Fwiw, JMD, this isn't age-based insults on my part. We're in the same generation; I'm just honest enough to admit it. I have five siblings, and between the six of us three are older than you and three are younger; so I'm right in that boomer group with you age-wise.

Melvin, I realize that you have the intellect of a door knob and certain vegetables, but you have to respect the fact that we are all aging. What someone did 30-40 years ago is not that easy anymore. Tabbing from Point "A" to "B", should be your last option, not your first. Consideration should be given to SUV's, motorcycles, bikes, horse, etc. If you have to leave your primary safe location, the more stores you can carry ensures that you and wifey will live longer
