An author by the name of Leroy Thompson about 10 years ago matched the M1 Garand against an M1A to compare which rifle could put more aimed shots down range in a minute. The Garand won. I'm sure you would be unpleasantly surprised at how effiecient that I am with my Garand.

Your memory fades dipstick, I was a "B" class shooter before I quit IPSC in 95/96. It doesn't change the facts.

Somehow the vision of Melvin running around Africa in a loincloth, just can't be unthought!

Class B was as high as I ever got as well, but I only shot duty-style guns. No comps, no beveled mag wells, etc. And the last time I shot ipsc was in 1991 or 92, so it's a moot point regardless.

Most of the trophies I have have 1980's dates on them, which makes a person feel old at times. But that's okay - when I was 25 or so I hated the idea of getting old. When I was 55 or so, I realized that I hated the idea of NOT getting old. :)
By the mid '90's, "Practical" & IPSC should never have been used in the same sentence. It was not conducive to new shooters.
