A: Why would Commando's want a SHORTER rifle? It's good for urban combat, but, in 1967, we were in Vietnam. The possibility exists, but it evades my sense of logic.
B: Never heard of anyone entering a tunnel with something other than a handgun (M1911, usually), but my knowledge of the tunnel rats is limited at best.
C: Perfect sense to me, tankers need to defend themselves if their vehicle got shot up, and there's no room for a full sized M16.
