I had bought the thing on a lark a few months ago.Normally "black rifles" don't do alot for me.My local Dunhams had them on sale for about $329/$349.
I bought about 100 rnds of Aussie surplus with it.It came w/two mags.

Well, having never fired anything like it before I confess to a little trepidation at the first squeeze. It wasn't helped when I squeezed the trigger only to hear a "CLICK".Lol,I hadn't fully seated the mag!:
Fixed that in a hurry.Found out exactly how tense I was too.Well, relaxed & squeezed off a shot.BANG!Hmm,almost zero recoil!I was quite suprised.I fired three rounds at 15 yds(my local range is indoors.max distance is only a dimly lit 25yds.)to make sure I was on paper then moved the target back to 25yds.I went through only about 30 rounds tonight but I had a FANTASTIC time!Wow!Using the issue sights set at 200m I was right in the bullseye.
I can't wait to get this sucker outdoors for some serious fun.

BTW,I put so few rounds through it because the muzzle break is,um,loud. There were other shooters there, one a guy with boys in tow,& I didn't want to distrupt them too much.

Also,I need to call Midway,IIRC,they have aluminum,used,20 round G3 mags for about five bucks ea.

 Welcome to the 308 associates! Glad you liked your Cetme and that it shot well. It was actually all the talent of the shooter, you know. Get to know her and love her and she will return your affection 10X.

Glad for you.

good for you,mag.41

if you ever disassemble it. [for me]the trigger group would not 're-seat' high enough with the fixed ejector, to eject, i had to cut a shim[about the thickness of a license plate/roof flashing then rtv/permatex] to the front locking lip, of the trigger group, works great now![although, i haven't stripped it since]

i shoot mine 5 x more ,ever since i removed 3/4 of the EVIL muzzle brake,

it's a great rifle.

thanks.

Sounds like you got a Century hack job. The angry beavers they employ beleive a preceision alignment tool means getting a bigger hammer.

I have an all metric FAL I built, and an ARS build metric receiver, inch pattern everything else.

A firend of mine got one of the century's and the barrel was probably as out of time as you could get and still get the piston to align in the gas tube. Plus it had enough cosmoline and crap in it to preserve two more guns.

We disassembled it. Cleaned it thouroughly, replaced the trigger group with a set from FSE, and then removed the barrel, cleaned up the threads, re-installed it - had to use the sand paper disk method to get it to time to 11:30 before we were able to seat it properly timed.

Then we had to get a different locking shoulder.

But it is now an excellent FAL and shoots and handles well.

But, it was like doing a kit build in effort to get it to function properly. I know of others who have had no problems - it's a gamble.

The alternative is to buy a DSA, or one built by a good smith like ARS.

41 Mag, you can find really nice German Army scope mounts (made by H&K) for the Cetme. Cost is around $99.00. Check Shotgun News. They also have bipods if you want one.

If you are even barely able to use a wrench, a hammer, and a screw driver, you could assemble an FAL.

It's not that difficult and you will have an intimate knowledge of your rifle when yo are done...

Might have to try making my own.I'm fairly handy w/a wrench.

There are so many places that sell parts for AR'S,AK'S,FAL'S,& etc.that I really don't know where to begin. Also,I confess to being a little leery of internet links from strangers.Anyone here who has a link to a reputable company that supplies both FAL parts kits & receivers I'd appreciate it.(I'm not so leery when it comes from a close knit group such as this one is.)

Tapco is awesome! they stand behind their stuff. I ordered some new in wrapper mags for my FAL from them and one of the magazines was useless. They more than made up for it on a future order.

They carry a lot of cool stuff too.

You cannot go wrong with them. (George from Tapco posts items in the for sale section here...)

I've always had a fondness for the FALs. Got two Belgians and almost picked up a third before a *situation* arose that I felt I should hang onto some money for. If it is still available in another couple of weeks, I may just chase that puppy down again.

The FALs are just really nice guns to shoot. Only time I have ever had one jam was when I was monkeying around with the adjustable gas port. Heck, it is the only semi I own that would shoot those Remington Accelerators without a problem.

Matter of fact, the gun I keep under my side of the bed is a 50.63 paratrooper model. That's the one with the folding stock.
