now! i know this is pretty common knowledge,

but for some one that dosen't know, it would'nt hurt to at least know about it in the back of their mind.

the home made 12ga. shotgun.

i made [1] when about 15, as i was 'reading' adventure/nudie mags i would find in the oilfield work trucks,ha![dad was president]

one needs a length of 3/4" water/gas piping[about 2'-3'] with one end reamed,to accept the 12ga.shell [it is necessary/a live one i mean]

then a foot long length of 1 1/2"nipple with bullplug/coupler,or threaded cap

now a drill hole through the center of threaded cap, and run a screw [at least2" long] this is your firing pin . add buffer/wadding

now you must 'center ' your barrel [always has been my favorite past time in life! ha!]
use what is at hand, wraps of tee shirt/duct tape[i used #9 solid copper wire in concentric wraps then tightly taped.

although, dangerous[you ARE the SAFETY] it will put the shot charge down range!

it is of a sliding /slam fire method, if one makes it count, it could double a persons lot in life tremendously.

the poster/ARMS LOCKER state this for entertainment/blah!blah!blah!..... :dgrin:

THANKS.

The Phillipine guerillas as well as others have used improvised arms for many years. The slam fire shotgun and the zip gun are good firearms to know how to make for information purposes only.

Years ago I read an interesting article about home made or "zip" guns used dring the riots by the blacks as Apartheid was ending in South Africa. Some of the designs looked damn good. Most were nothing but a piece of pipe w/a rubber band controlled firing pin(a nail) screwed to the back. The ones that looked like they were made by Darwin Award canidates were REAL scary.Think shower curtain rod shotgun.

I was impressed both with their ingenuity & their scrounging skills.

"Zip guns" are banned by federal law.

Yeah,so are a lot of things.Doesn't hurt anyone to know that they exist though,eh?

They're not exactly the "weapon of choice" currently. :nope: :deer:

You can make sort of a hand grenade/pipe bomb from a shotgun shell too, sorry but I am not telling the how to of that one... I imagine all of those weapons could come in handy in a SHTF type deal.

Sounds like one of those shotshell "nutbusters" that Kurt Saxon advocated many years ago. An older friend has a varied library and he says that LE tests said that the things didn't work. Kurt is/was a strange man.

It's either in the Terrorist Handbook or the Anarchist cookbook. I also have instructions on how to make Velex ammunition.

Now, I see red flags going up, and black lists being lengthened...

I'd much rather have a springbow than slampipe

about 5x the effective range, silent, AP, reusable "ammo" Same manufacturing method as I used to make SMB's, just use a very powerful coil spring to drive an arrow. Concave, removable front plug, stuff the arrow feathers down inside the hole in it. removable folding stock, sights, like a crossbow. The cocking knob can be hooked with a T handle, and a removable stirrup can be used to hold the nose with your foot, while you cock back the spring.

You could always scrounge the old Franfort Arsenal "Improvised Munitions" volumes.Other useful bits could be hunted for in the old Delta Press,"Improvised Weapons of the American Underground";thet've been knon to have some useful recipes for the old cookbook.. :dgrin:

The slam fire shotgun should have an effective range of about 30yds. So you're saying the springbow has a range of 150yds? BS. Silent - not hardly it makes a loud sproing. AP - maybe. What are you making your broadheads out of? Reusable ammo - BS. Your arrows will be totally lost if you miss and you won't stay around to recover them if you hit.

Concave, removable front plug, stuff the arrow feathers down inside the hole in it.

Why do you need that for a crosbow?

That sounds okay. Think I prefer the shotgun though. Your weapon is too complicated for its intended use.

it aint a crossbow, *****. I can find the arrows just as easily as anyone can with a regular bow, and no, it doesn't have a noise, because I know enough to have a neoprene plug at either end. I realize that something that simple wouldn't occur to lesser minds.

I got news for you. The slampipe's pattern splatters almost instantly, and trying to "aim" it is a joke. 5m is about it for the slampipe. against men I've tried it, and it's a joke. Best stick to 20 ga buckshot, and wrap the area infront of the rear pipe with tape, or run the risk of getting your hand burned by the gases. The brass shell head can easily rupture, you know, given such poor support, lack of roundness, in the "chamber", and so on.

Except, that recovered arrows are not always reusable, broadheads rarely are. All it takes is a rock or a tree and the arrow will be fubar, if you are using anything resembling a modern bow in terms of velocity.

And it won't be totally silent. Neopreme or not.

what type arrows will you need? The diameter and thickness of the arrow is determined by a number of factors...

what weight broadhead will you use, and what type.

How is the fletching set up for the arrows? (there are different angles that fletching is set at...)
