Surley you don't mean revolvers, folks have been killing each others with revolvers for over a hundred years and it continues now and revolvers are also great backcountry weapons. For the sake of your credibility please don't try and tell us how the .460 Rowland is ballistically equivellent to the .44Mag or .45 Colt.

You know how it's going to go, I'm going to say BS, post pictures and facts and you are going to get quiet and start another thread in another forum.

Pick any action, any caliber (except the very new ones) and it's been sucessfully used as a defensive gun.

In our colonial and frontier days, the most common firearm was a single-shot smooth-bore, first muskets, then shotguns. Then single shot rifles, frontstuffers, then self-contained metallic cartridge.

Lever actions (which he thinks are worthless) are the original assault rifle, and are still able to be used in that capacity.

So, really, there is no such thing as a non-defensive gun, only a narrow mindset.

Teuf, the Spanish Star BM was made for 9mm ONLY. It was NOT made for the pressures of the 9x23, or .357 SIG, or .38 Super, or even NATO spec ammo. It's magazine is a single column design that just won't take those other cartridges either. It's feeding ramp will jam with most hollowpoints made for 9mm, and no doubt anything but FMJ. It's not even made now either!

It's ok for a plinker, and maybe a poor person who just can't afford more, but other than that, it's has no use. For the amount of money gunboob would spend on the pos Star a Colt defender in .40 can be had, or a Springfield Armory 1911 compact and they are MUCH better pistols.
