Why do crooks think they will have time to find water on the run?

When they don't have any maps or other means of determaining where it's located. It's also intresting how crooks think they are going to be steathy when they have to boil water to purify it and clunk around in the dark trying to find it.

But I guess it all comes from being a "Egocentric, delusional, fantasy role playing, socieopathic, inept, stupid, loud mouthed, cowardly, cheap, lazy" crook.

I'm not sure rookie is the right word. Thats someone who is starting out and learning the ropes. I'm a rookie and may never get to play in the big leagues. Egocentric, delusional, fantasy role playing, socieopathic, inept, stupid, loud mouthed, cowardly, cheap, lazy - all those come to mind as more appropriate. Terminally stupid works better for me.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you are saying - just question the word.

"RIKA the rookie" :D
There is a definite difference on being "terminally stupid" and being inexperienced but willing to learn. The life expectancy of the "terminally stupid" if the balloon ever goes up is measured in nano-seconds.
It's funny how so many newbe hikers get lost and they cannot find water or food or shelter, yet these crooks think without any preperations they will find all the above.

I think it has to do with their lack of 'details'. After all, it's the devil in the details that gets them caught to begin with. Kind of like "don't bother me with facts".
yeah, dumbass, the Indians and settlers ALL had maps telling them where the water is, right? ****ing idiot. I KNOW where tolook, and I happen to have both a Katadyn filter and Potable Aqua, dumbass. Why do jerkoffs like YOU "think" anything at all? It's NEVER correct.

Actually, many of the settlers did have maps. Many of those that didn't, died. Indians tended to keep to areas they were familiar with until forced to leave by the white men. Which meant that they knew where sources of water were located

Trails and routes were often established because they followed or led to sources of water.

Having a water filter is a good idea, but useless without any water to filter with it. Do you have any supplies to clean your filter with? If you are going to rely on it to filter all your drinking water on a daily basis, how long before it is in need of a cleaning?

You keep bringing up examples, that pretty much point out that you are wrong...

Wow, so now you have a filter? Thats intresting, so how much does your gear weigh now LOL?

When are we going to see a gear list?

Teuf,
Please post a detailed kit list of what you have ready to go AT THIS MOMENT!
You can always tell when JD doesn't have any real answers, he starts several splinter post LOL

Teuf,
i liked what aslan

stated about trails/paths to water, but could not just drag his one sentence.

i could take you 30 to 75 miles as the 'crow flies' in any direction of my compass, from where i'm sitting , and cut 'frequent sign' of illegals heading north[emptywater juggs, trash, clothes, mexican i.d. cards, ect.]

but the one i want to share, is the FACT of finding blown out, discarded footware, on cattle/game trails.

those are the ones that are done for, and just hoping to find a scummy mud hole of a cattle tank!

a persons shoes are stark symbols.

thanks.
