This will be the first time my son has drawn a Bull elk tag, so it will be a special hunt for him.
He'll be using my .280 (ok, he thinks it's his because I let him use it once) and I'll be using my .338
Neither of us will be wearing hearing protection, or using a can. I guess we can forget actually hitting anything.
I am really looking forward to his hunt. We will begin scouting weekends come sept. I already know where two herds were hanging out last year, before during and after last year's season. (I still have cow elk meat in the freezer - not much though. Some sausage, and some ground meat.)
